California Woman Dangling From Chairlift Says She Was Attempting a Pull-Up

A video that went viral this week, showing a young woman dangling from a chairlift at Big Bear Mountain Resort in California, raised some eyebrows.
The woman was ultimately okay, landing on the ground just a few feet short of the top terminal of the chairlift, but the explanation for how the incident started in the first place is, well… questionable.
Roula de Miranda-Arce, the 21-year-old woman seen in the video, told NBCLA that she was in “So much pain, my body is in so much pain” after the incident, but was ultimately okay.
According to NBCLA, Roula’s twin sister Raizel “did a pull-up” from the chair, which Roula tried to replicate. “She accidentally slipped, and she ended up really falling, and I was like ‘oh my god'” said Raizel in recounting the accident.

Big Bear reportedly told NBCLA that Roula and Raizel “failed to maintain proper safety protocols.” Yeah, that’s a bit of an understatement.
I thought it went without saying, but “doing a pull-up” on a chairlift isn’t a normal thing.
Hopefully, these ladies learned a lesson and won’t let the “fame” of a viral video get to their heads. They could have been seriously injured or killed in this silly little stunt.
