A lot of skiers have never heard of the Rossignol Super Black Ops, and that’s kind of by design. Every season, Rossignol releases a new Super Black Ops—always a 98-millimeter-waisted twintip that uses the brand’s tried-and-true Black Ops freeride chassis, dressed in unique graphics celebrating a moment in Rossignol’s long history. Last season’s bright yellow and black topsheet throws it back to the iconic look of the legendary Rossignol 7S and 7SK downhill skis. And despite its freeride-inspired shape, this Black Ops skis like a downhill charger. “It has a twintip shape but doesn’t ski like a traditional twintip,” said one tester.

With a layer of Titanal and Rossignol’s vibration-damping technology, the Super Black Ops is an all-mountain charger best suited to advanced and expert skiers who make the whole mountain their playground. “It can do everything extremely well and won’t have you hoping for more ski in any conditions,” noted one tester. “Surfy and playful in the soft snow but still holds an edge to let you ski like an ex-ski racer.” Testers were so impressed with the 2026 Super Black Ops that they named it the most balanced all-mountain ski at our 2024 SKI Test. Just note that the twintip shape skis a touch short, so testers recommend sizing up if you want extra stability.

Right now, the 2026 Super Black Ops is on sale for $488, down from $740. Once it sells out, it’s gone for good—Rossignol’s already replacing it with a new Super Black Ops limited edition.
