Amazon Prime Day snuck up on us this year.
The sales-palooza always seems to happen the first or second week of July, but this year it came early (as in today, June 23 through June 26).
If you’re not sure where to start, keep scrolling because the SKI editors went through all the deals and pulled the ones that we’re eyeing. From sunscreen to heated vests, if you’re a skier, these are the deals you should take advantage of.
Kiehl’s Better Screen UV Serum

This is my tried-and-true, every-single-day sunscreen. I love that it feels lightweight and never greasy, but doesn’t compromise on protection. What sets this formula apart is that it helps reduce the look of aging, especially on weathered skin. I’ll never get enough of this sunscreen, so I love stocking up while it’s on sale. —Jamie Aranoff, Senior Editor
24 Count Mesh Zipper Pouch Bags

Okay, I’ll admit it. I’m obsessed with pouches. But, hear me out: these mesh zippered pouches are a must. I actually prefer pouches like this to packing cubes because of their versatility. I also love to use them to keep ski accessories (think hand warmers, passes, chapstick, GoPro equipment, goggle wipes, etc.) organized. You can use and reuse them over and over again, and even color coordinate so everyone on the ski trip gets their own color. —J.A.
Xtratuf Women’s Durable Waterproof Ankle Deck Boots

This is a great shoe for winter, and as a bonus, you can wear them in the rain this time of year! I love the brand and find them to be the most comfortable and practical shoes for after skiing, winter walks, or just heading to the grocery store. Best of all, on sale, they won’t break the bank. —Giorgia Menetre, SKI social
AXEN Soft Flask

Nothing beats fitting water in your jacket pocket rather than lugging around a pack all day. With a flexible water bottle like this one, the load gets lighter the more you drink! Use these for everything from days on the hill to days on the trail, so you can stay hydrated without carrying a big bottle! —G.M.
Boot, Garment & Gear Electric Dryer

This is one of those gear items that you don’t think of as essential until you break down and get it. I legitimately don’t remember how I survived ski season without a boot dryer like this. I suffer from cold toes while skiing, and nine times out of ten, the culprit is wet liners—liners that haven’t fully dried overnight after the previous day’s use. The same goes for my fingers and wet gloves. This boot dryer efficiently dries ski boots, gloves, regular winter boots, socks—you name it. Just set it and forget it. —Jenny Wiegand, Associate Gear Director, Outside
ORORO Women’s Lightweight Heated Vest

My mom swears by this vest for keeping her warm and comfortable even on the coldest ski days. She wears it as a midlayer under a Gore-Tex shell jacket and says the medium heat setting is enough to take the chill off without making her overheat. On medium, the battery lasts long enough for her four-hour ski days. —J.W.
Snow Deer Heated Socks

I’ve been wanting to try heated socks for a while now, but I’m not looking to spend a few hundred on something I’m not sure if I’m going to like. I’ve been researching the best “budget brand,” and this moderately priced pair from Snow Deer gets good reviews and seems to fit most average-shaped feet, which I happen to possess. I’m snagging these on Prime Day, when they’re 15 percent off, and can’t wait to try them on my first frigid ski day next season. —Samantha Berman, SKI Executive Editor
Unigear Ski Boot Backpack

I bought three of these a few years ago when my teens needed adult-sized boot bags of their own. The boot compartment is roomy, with plenty of space for full-sized ski boots, and there are two additional compartments for helmets, goggles, gloves, extra layers, etc. They’re also durable and look as good as new after multiple seasons of heavy use. —S.B.
Smartwool Women’s Classic Thermal Merino 250 Base Layer Crew

The more winter I rack up, the more convinced I am that great ski days start with great base layers.A lot of ski gear is situational. A quality merino wool layer is useful nearly every day of winter. Smartwool’s Merino 250 has earned its reputation because it does exactly what you want a base layer to do: keep you warm without feeling bulky, regulate temperature when conditions change, and stay surprisingly fresh after multiple wears. It’s the layer I reach for whether I’m skiing, hiking, walking the dogs, or sitting around nursing sore legs after a long day outside.
If you’re looking to upgrade one piece of your ski kit, start with the layer that touches your skin. Everything else works better when that piece does its job. —Sierra Shafer, Editorial Director, Lifestyle
Anker Nano Portable Charger

Cold temperatures have a nasty habit of turning a fully charged phone into a dead one. That’s annoying when you’re trying to take photos or listen to music. It’s a bigger problem when you’re relying on your phone for navigation, weather updates, travel plans, or finding your way back to the trailhead.
I never travel without a portable charger, and this Anker model checks all the boxes. It’s compact enough to disappear into a ski jacket pocket or carry-on, powerful enough to recharge most phones multiple times, and comes with a built-in retractable cable so you don’t have to carry one more thing. Whether you’re headed on a hut trip, spending a long day in the mountains, or sprinting through an airport on your way to a ski vacation, this is exactly the kind of thing you think you won’t need, right up until you do. —S.S.
