This isn’t your run-of-the-mill boring gift guide. Here’s what your bell-to-bell ski dad really wants this year.

For many of us, core ski memories start with Dad. He’s the one cheering us on, and often the final boss when it comes to people to outski.
Unfortunately, dads can be hard to shop for. My dad, in particular, is a self-proclaimed “retro grouch”. He unironically skied in jeans and a hockey helmet for years, claiming they did the job just as well as traditional ski gear. He couldn’t be bothered with goggles until an instructor scared him straight about going blind. What would he ever do without me?
So, if your dad or fatherly figure is anything like mine and perhaps a little hard to shop for, you’ve come to the right place. These are ski-dad-approved gifts he’ll actually want (because I asked my own father for his input).
Darn Tough Edge Over-the-Calf Midweight Cushion Socks

When I asked my dad for suggestions for this roundup, the first thing he thought of was Darn Tough socks. He was the one who taught me the importance of high-quality wool socks, and this year he’ll be the recipient of a cushy new pair. We also love the lifetime guarantee that comes with Darn Tough, and there’s never a bad time for a new pair!
Patagonia Go To Shirt

Dads aren’t always the most stylish, so this Father’s Day, treat him to some new threads. Patagonia’s Go-To shirt is comfortable and lightweight, and best of all, wrinkle-resistant.
Arcade Atlas Belt

One belt wonder. The arcade Atlas belt is made with stretchy elastic fabric and is designed to be worn whenever you need support. It’s perfect to hold up baggy ski pants and works just as well holding up Dad’s deceptively heavy cargo shorts.
Carv 2 Ski Coach

Growing up beating Dad in a ski race was the ultimate win. Unlike most people in my life, he never let me win. Eventually, I caught up with him and now I outski him almost every time. If you need the perfect gift that says thank you for teaching me to ski, and also sorry I’m now better than you, then look no further than the Carv ski coach. Carv is simple to use and gives skiers immediate feedback so they can improve their craft.
K2 Mindbender 100 BOA Ski Boots

If you’re looking to help Dad upgrade his gear and perhaps dip a toe into the world of Boa boots, then K2’s Mindbender is the perfect place to start. With a comfortable 100 flex, these boots work well both in the resort and the backcountry. The Mindbender has a medium volume fit and is well-balanced for your intermediate to advanced-level skier.
Hatch Restore 3 Sunrise Alarm Clock

If you grew up in a household where a ski day meant bell to bell, then you know Dad is no stranger to early mornings. Make his early days better with a Hatch alarm clock that mimics sunrise to make dark, wintry mornings that much easier. And we all know that nothing screams “dad” louder than an early airport arrival.
