Jesper Tjäder‘s wild slopestyle event is officially returning this spring.
Unrailistic is returning to Åre for its third edition from April 30- May 1, 2026. The event kicks off with a Best Trick competition on April 30th, followed by the main event, a slopestyle competition in which athletes have two runs to hit and trick as many features on the course as possible, on May 1.
One male and one female skier will be crowned the overall event winner based on points awarded at both the best trick and slopestyle competitions. Athletes have the chance to win 10 points at the Best Trick competition and another 100 points during slopestyle.
The competition differs from traditional slopestyle in that it’s almost entirely rail-focused and has features unlike anything you’ve seen before. Tjäder hand draws the wildest rails he can think of, which are then turned into real, rideable features.
The 2024 edition of the event featured a dance floor with an actual bar, which also had a rail feature that got literally set on fire, and more.

The lineup for 2026 hasn’t been announced yet, but previous editions of the event have seen competitors like Jennie-Lee Bumansson, Matěv Švancer, Johanne Killi, Andreas Håtveit, Henrik Harlaut, Nico Porteous, Evan McEachran, Hunter Henderson, Colby Stevenson, Max Moffatt, and more.
Tjäder grew up honing his skills in the park at Åre and has become well known for the creative skiing he brings to X Games, the Olympics, and a host of amazing films and segments.
Unrailistic originated from a short film Tjäder released in 2015, featuring a series of unique rail features dreamt up and brought to life by Tjäder’s mind-boggling approach.
In 2019, Tjäder once again teamed up with Red Bull to bring the world a sequel in Unrailistic 2, with even more wacky rail features. Two years later, Tjäder wanted to see what other skiers would bring to the slopestyle playground he’d created at Åre, and in 2021, Unrailistic morphed into an invitational-style event with local Swedish riders. The official first edition of the Unrailistic event took place in 2023.
You can watch all the madness of Unrailistic go down live on Red Bull TV on Friday, May 1, at 9 a.m. PDT.
