Largest Canadian Flag Ever Made Unveiled at Vancouver Ski Resort

One of Vancouver, British Columbia’s local ski areas, Grouse Mountain, is showing its Canadian pride in a big way. The ski area recently became home to the largest Canadian flag ever produced, which now sits on its slopes.
The flag was made and placed in support of the Canadian National Soccer Team, as well as to recognize Canada as a co-host of the 2026 FIFA World Cup alongside the United States and Mexico. It spans 160 meters wide by 80 meters tall and was produced in collaboration with Blast Media.
A team of people worked to roll the flag out over The Cut ski run at Grouse Mountain. The feat is currently awaiting a final decision from the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest flag unfurled on a mountain.
The flag is visible from across much of Metro Vancouver as well as when flying into Vancouver International Airport.
“This is a moment designed to be seen not just from the mountain, but from across the city, from the sky, and around the world,” said Adam Rootman, senior director of marketing, Grouse Mountain Resort, in a press release, “As Vancouver welcomes international visitors, we wanted to put our support behind the home squad in a way that is truly unforgettable.”

The opening ceremony for the World Cup takes place on June 11, 2026, in Mexico, with another immediately following on June 12, in Vancouver, BC, and in Los Angeles, California. Vancouver will host their first match of the World Cup on June 18, 2026, between Canada and Qatar. Vancouver will host another match between Canada and Switzerland on June 24, 2026.
Fans visiting Grouse Mountain this summer who wear team jerseys the day before home matches on the 18th and 24th will receive 15% off Mountain Admission tickets for activities like scenic gondola rides, the Grouse Gravity Coaster, and more.
