– Not as playful or quick as some powder skis
Everyone knows the Atomic Bent Chetler 120, but not enough skiers know about the Atomic Maverick 115 CTi—a slightly slimmer, more directional powder ski that’s better suited to most skiers chasing storm days at the resort. Designed with input from freeride legends Sage Cattabriga-Alosa and Craig Murray, the Maverick 115 CTi floats like a butterfly but earns its keep beyond powder days, too—holding its own in crud and on firm snow thanks to Titanal reinforcement in the core and ample camber underfoot. “Compared to Atomic’s popular Bent Chetler skis, the Maverick brings more technical precision and stability at speed,” wrote SKI’s powder ski expert Lily Ritter. “Where the Bent Chetler shines in deep, fluffy powder, the Maverick stands out as a true big-mountain tool that can charge hard in everything from fresh snow to chopped-up crud.” Most powder skis are fun in fresh snow—relatively few are fun in anything else. The Maverick 115 CTi won SKI’s “Best in Test” award because it didn’t disappoint anywhere. Normally $850, it’s currently on sale for under $600.
