Vermont’s Bolton Valley ski resort is shaking up its leadership team, naming a new CEO and shifting the positions held by members of the DesLauriers family, which, alongside a small group of investors, owns the resort.
Lindsay DesLauriers, the daughter of Bolton Valley founder Ralph DesLauriers, moved from president and CEO to chair of the board.
According to a release, she’ll remain involved in shaping the resort’s future, with one of her first big projects being Nordic Peaks, a 32 condo and townhome neighborhood that marks Bolton Valley’s first construction project in more than 30 years.
Filling the role of president and CEO is Tara Murphy, a Vermont business leader who previously worked as a consultant for Bolton Valley for more than a year.
She said she was “honored by the trust the DesLauriers family has placed in me” and excited to work with them and the Bolton Valley team.

Another of Ralph’s children, Evan DesLauriers, was named vice president. In the expanded role, the release said, he’ll continue leading resort operations, strategic initiatives and long-term planning.
Bolton Valley also appointed a new general manager, Nick Lemire, in May.
“With respect to the change in leadership at the resort, I’ve known and admired Tara for many years, and we are truly fortunate to have someone of her caliber joining the team,” said Lindsay in the release. “It also gives me great personal joy to see my brother Evan stepping up into this greater leadership role at the same time.”
Evan said the shuffling of roles means “we’re well positioned for what’s ahead.”
“Tara brings a wealth of leadership experience and a diverse business background that will be a tremendous asset as we continue building on everything that makes Bolton Valley special,” he added.
Ralph founded Bolton Valley in 1966, later relinquishing the ski area in 1997 as it faced bankruptcy, Vermont Business Magazine reported. The resort changed owners several times. More than a decade later, in 2017, Bolton Valley returned to the DesLauriers family.
Located outside Burlington in the Green Mountains of Vermont, Bolton Valley spans 300 skiable acres, six lifts, and 71 trails. During the warmer months, the ski resort offers mountain biking.
